Vince Redmond
Regional Referee Administrator

Here goes nothing:

I became a part of Region 154 when I was freshly graduated from San Diego State University in 1993. I was moving back to Orange County for a girl! Her brother-in-law was in desperate need of an experienced Assistant Coach to help him coach his son's U10 team. You see, I had been playing soccer since I was 6 and had played semi-professionally in San Diego until a head injury sidelined that dream of playing any higher. He was very excited that I was dating his sister-in-law! and moving back into town. I moved back to Orange County in 1993 and began coaching in Cypress that Fall!

Well, we ended up being a good coaching tandem and stayed in the Region for another 10+ years coaching both of his son's, refereeing, doing field maintenance, Board staff duties, etc. We then were one of the first teams to form the now defunct, Cypress Futbol Club bringing club soccer to Cypress.

Well as luck would have it, I ended up marrying that girl I moved back from San Diego for and we had 2 beautiful daughters together. When the time came for them to play soccer, I had a decision to make, sign them up where we live in Huntington Beach or go back to Cypress where everyone already knew me and I had such a great experience. Well, another 13 years later, here I stand as your Referee Administrator for the region. Both of my girls played from U6-U16 in Region 154, but my youngest stopped last year. At that time, I thought my time with Region 154 was finally done! NOT SO FAST!!! At that same time, I was asked to take over the Regional Referee Administrator position on the Region 154 Board of Directors. Well, you now know what decision I chose!!!

I will be entering my second year on the Board and I have to say I am very excited for the new things to come in our Region. We are trying some new things this year that I think will make things better for the players, parents and volunteers. We have listened to many of your suggestions and are doing all we can to implement them into the region to give you and your family the best soccer experience around.

If you ever need anything or have any questions about our referee programs, please reach out to me at anytime! I look forward to meeting you all out on the fields!

Jodie Thomas
Regional Coach Administrator

My passion for soccer all started when I was 4 years old when I began playing here in Cypress AYSO Region 154.  After almost 30 years of continuing to play the game, I decided it was time to learn how to coach. I have coached for the last 6 years and I must say that the most valuable experience regarding soccer has been gaining the knowledge on how to properly coach.  I am still learning from more advanced coaches and am very grateful to continue expanding my soccer knowledge.

After coaching for a few years, I gave refereeing a go.  I have refereed games for the past 3 years and once again learned another aspect of soccer from a different perspective.  A huge thank you to all the referees out there.

So, after playing, then coaching, then becoming a referee, I took the next step and became an 8U Division Director for Region 154.  I wanted to share my knowledge to coaches just starting their coaching career.  I am now currently the Coach Administrator for the region and hope to provide quality assistance and communication to the coaches and their teams.

On a more personal note, I have been happily married for 11 years to an amazing husband that supports my crazy volunteer hours and commitment.  I also have three young children 4, 6, and 9 years old.  All three are part of this great soccer program with the youngest beginning his first year in the 6U division.  I hope they all have a wonderful soccer experience and make great lifelong memories and friends like I have

Cindy Sisneros
CVPA & 12U Boys Division Director

My name is Cindy Sisneros (formerly Patino for those who knew me by this last name going back 10 years now).

I have been with this Region since 2007 when my daughter first starting playing AYSO at the age of 6. She is now 16 playing GU19 and my son also plays on the BU13 Extra team, he is 12. I grew up playing AYSO myself, starting at age 10 and continued until I aged out at 19. I have coached both my kids for 8 years now, most of the time having 2 teams during both Fall and Spring seasons.  I am currently coaching both the GU19 and BU13 Extra team with Cesar Espinoza.  I am out on the field holding practices from 6-9pm 2 nights a week.

I have an Advanced Coaching Certification along with a Regional Referee badge. I joined the Board back in March of 2016 as Safety Director. I have recently taken on the positions of CVPA and the BU12 Division Director for the Region.

In my spare time (what spare time you ask????), I enjoy playing in 3 co-ed softball leagues with my now husband (whom I met on the softball field) Friday nights and Sundays.

Volunteering is great for your child to see and grow up with!  I hope all players and parents have a great 2017-2018 season.

Dan Webb
Regional Commissioner

I have been a part of this region now since 2000. My story starts when I signed my daughters up for soccer the week after getting out of the Army. One fateful Saturday while half asleep on the sidelines during a game after 36 straight hours at work, I was asked by a group of parents on the team to help coach because the head coach had not shown up yet.... 17 years later, here I am. I have 4 children, 3 grown and off in the world and my 10 year old who is my constant sidekick and my best buddy. I have held many positions on the board and subsequently this is my second time around as commissioner... and no I am not crazy!! Ha!

I have coached all through the core program levels and recently an Extra team which went to Western States Championships 2 years in a row. I hold an advanced coaching certificate as well as an E lIcense from USSF. I am also one of the region's coach instructors and have reff'd my share of game in the last 17 years.

As we move into the 2017 season, we have made colossal changes to improve our region. The changes will can be experienced all over either as a coach, team parent, referee, and most importantly our kids. I am extraordinarily proud of our region board for the hard work and immense dedication it takes to start, and maintain a successful season. They have taken on the task I gave to be progressive and think not outside the box but reinvent what the box should be. They have heard me many times simply saying "be better". And they have exceeded any expectations.

Welcome to the new season and join me in the excitement of all the new additions to the region. Keep checking in to meet a new board member!!
